Brett Wright joined Tortoise Capital in 2024 as Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for distribution efforts including sales and marketing. He has more than two decades of extensive experience in business development and strategic leadership and a record of success in building and executing sales, marketing, and business strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability.  

Before joining Tortoise Capital, Brett was Head of Distribution for AXS Investments, where he spearheaded the strategy, marketing and execution of product distribution for this boutique alternative asset management firm. Before that he spent 12 years at Macquarie Asset Management where he held several leadership roles. He led strategic initiatives involving new products, sales channels and geographies as head of the Americas client group, member of the public markets executive committee, and CEO of the Optimum Funds Trust, among other management roles.

Brett earned a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from the Pennsylvania State University where he developed foundational leadership and management skills. An avid mountaineer, he has successfully climbed four of the world’s seven tallest summits. He holds Series 7, Series 63, Series 24 and Series 65 licenses.

Brett has served in leadership roles on several industry boards, including the Money Management Institute (MMI), Investments and Wealth Institute (IWI), and as an advisory board member for FLX Networks. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Brett is a dedicated board member of Philadelphia Futures, a non-profit organization committed to providing low-income, first-generation students in Philadelphia with the tools and opportunities they need to enter and succeed in college.
